Riverside Companion Artwork
Dec. 10th, 2010 01:01 amThe lovely
sleepwalkerfish was kind enough to do the companion artwork for Riverside.
Check out the two gorgeous pieces she did here -- one is a Fic cover, and the other a bonus illustration!

Special Thanks: to
jouissant for the awesome beta job on the first 2 parts and also to
awarrington for her invaluable suggestions re: the plot. I could not have done it without either of you. Please note, because this fic literally ate my brain and got way longer than I had ever expected, I ran out of time and the last 2 parts haven't as yet been betaed. All mistakes are mine.

help_pakistan
Aug. 22nd, 2010 11:25 amI know I haven't posted here in a while, but this cause has brought me out of my non-writing delirium. I've signed up for
help_pakistan, a comm that is going to donate proceeds from their charity auction to the flood relief work in Pakistan.
I'm offering two fics, one of them a sequel/companion-piece/POV-switch/somehow related to something I’ve already written, and the other a new fandom piece. Plus there are tons of other wonderful multi-fandom fannish pieces being offered, fic, vid, art and so on and so forth, so you guys should check it out and spread the word. :)
This round of bidding ends on August 28, 2010!
Happy bidding, and hopefully, it'll be happy writing for me. :)

New Fanfiction Website
Apr. 12th, 2009 08:06 pmHi guys,
I know I've been MIA for a while now, as far as this journal is concerned. I haven't abandoned my fluffy fic, I assure you. It will be completed slowly but surely. Though, you might see some angsty entries from me before the fluff task is completed, since, I'm not a very fluffy person at writing. But I suppose you already know that. :D
Anyways. For the longest time, I'd been planning to collect all my fanfiction and post it to one place, both Star Trek Voyager and Queer as Folk. Previously, my Trek stuff was on three different websites (yes, THREE) and I never got around to making a QAF site -- it was only on LJ. I figured, there had to be a website where I could have all my fandom stuff in one place together. At first, I thought... I'll buy my own domain and make a website from scratch, like I used to do in the old days. Slaving away on Dreamweaver, working on one page after another and another and all that stuff. But my work schedule has been absolutely nuts, and I finally realized that if I waited for RL to slow down enough for me to work on a whole domain, my site would never happen. So I thought, I had to find an easier option.
And then, I came across Google sites. It's a simple WYSIWYG tool that lets you make pages/sites relatively easier without too much technical know-how required. And if you can make a decent enough page, you can migrate that to an actual domain anytime. So I decided to go for that. It was still very time consuming, and I've been at it for the last couple of weeks, but I believe my site is finally in a shape that I can announce it here and elsewhere. :)
Check out http://sites.google.com/site/laylafic
There it is --- all my fandom stuff in one place.

Oh well! A Nanowrimo update!
Nov. 30th, 2008 02:07 pmI know, I know.... I've been missing since posting the first chapter. The bad news is.... I am not going to meet my NANO goal this year. I'm only halfway through in my goal as of now as I let myself get distracted by things and was not able to concentrate on the story the way it deserved to be concentrated on. Yeah, I know, it sucks to be me. :D
However, the good news is... that despite being distracted, I have been working on the story at a slower pace and now have the entire plotline laid out in front of me. I now know where the story is going and how it's gonna end --- unlike at the beginning of the month when I barely had the vaguest idea of what I was gonna do in a fluffy Brian gets a pet fic. ;)
So I'll be posting more in December. Brian needs fluff in his life right now. And so do I. :D
