This was completely wonderful. The characterization was truly spectacular, particularly in regards to Winona and Jim's relationship. I thought it immensely well portrayed. Their hesitance, their not knowing how to talk to one another, Winona's guilt and Jim's pain never far from the surface; I think you nailed what it would be like for two people, mother and son, in that type of situation.
Spock was just love. I love how supportive he was of Jim, and how protective, the scene where he asked Winona if she was aware that Jim was abused as a child gave me chills, but made me fall more enamored with Spock than ever before (which is a feat and a half, because I already adored the guy to pieces going in ;-)).
The ending was great. I loved Jim's reaction. How smitten he was with the idea of a relationship with Spock, and how tickled he was that Spock fell for him, how he was convinced that Spock was perfect in everything... exhibiting all the signs of one extremely enamored Captain. It was beyond cute.

Thank you for this! :-)
